Zahir Davis Wanted for Murder of 15-Year-Old Jaden Pierre in Queens Park Shooting, NYPD Confirms Suspect Alive [VIDEO]

Queens, New York — Police have identified Zahir Davis as the suspect wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of 15-year-old Jaden Pierre inside a Queens park. Authorities confirmed that Davis is alive and currently being sought on a murder charge.

According to the New York City Police Department, the shooting occurred around 6:20 p.m. Thursday at Roy Wilkins Park in the St. Albans neighborhood. Officers responding to the scene found Jaden Pierre suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. He was later pronounced dead.

Investigators say the incident was captured on video and may have been connected to a gathering organized on social media. Footage circulating online reportedly shows a group of youths assaulting the teen before a suspect, described as wearing a gray hoodie and gray pants, opened fire.

Jaden’s mother, Shanelle Weston, expressed outrage and grief, condemning both the shooter and those who recorded the violence without intervening. Family members say the teen had told his father he was going to play basketball but instead attended what was described as a water balloon event promoted online.

Pierre was a ninth-grade student at Eagle Academy for Young Men in Queens and had recently secured his first summer job. His family described him as excited about his future and deeply loved within the community.

As of now, no arrests have been made. Police continue to search for Zahir Davis and are urging anyone with information to come forward. Tips can be submitted anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).

The investigation remains ongoing.
