Columbus, Ohio — A Columbus woman, Danielle Henry, has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of DoorDash driver Ibrahim Diakite, who was dragged and run over during a violent road rage incident following a minor parking lot crash.

The confrontation occurred on October 22 at a Westerville shopping center, where Henry, who was allegedly driving a stolen vehicle after shoplifting, collided with Diakite’s car. According to investigators, the situation escalated when Diakite confronted her.

Witnesses said Henry tried to flee the scene, prompting Diakite to jump onto the hood of her car in an effort to stop her. Police say he was then pulled underneath the vehicle and dragged between 300 and 600 feet before being run over and fatally injured.

Westerville Police Chief Holly Murchland said, “She did a U-turn and knocked him off of the car, and at some point, we believe did run him over. He later passed away at the hospital.”

Court documents revealed Henry had multiple active warrants at the time — including for theft, receiving stolen property, and failure to comply with police. Chief Murchland described her as “a danger to the community” who was “willing to do whatever she could to avoid being caught.”

Henry was arrested several days later thanks to license plate reader technology and cooperation between Columbus and Westerville police.

She has since been charged with aggravated vehicular homicide and involuntary manslaughter and remains held in the Franklin County Jail on a $750,000 bond.

Henry’s criminal record spans nearly 15 years, with prior convictions for carrying a concealed weapon, assault, soliciting, misdemeanor theft, and drug offenses.

The victim, Ibrahim Diakite, had moved to Columbus from West Africa seeking a better life. His brother, Mohamed, described him as both “my brother and my best friend.”

Henry is scheduled to appear in court next week.
