A Florida firefighter has been arrested after allegedly dumping more than 75 red-stained tampons in her ex-boyfriend’s yard in retaliation for him dating another woman.
Gabrielle Franze, 28, of Deltona, who serves with Orange County Fire Rescue, is accused of driving a pickup truck to her ex’s home on September 29 and scattering dozens of bloodied or red-dyed tampons across the lawn and driveway.
Home security cameras reportedly captured the entire act, leading to Franze’s arrest on two misdemeanor stalking charges, WFTV reported. Deputies from the Volusia Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and later took her into custody.
“Firefighters are supposed to stand for honor and integrity, yet she chose to do something like this,” the victim said. “That’s how you ruin a badge and a reputation.”
According to an arrest affidavit, Franze had previously posted on social media about her ex’s new relationship and made disparaging remarks about the couple.
During questioning, Franze at first denied knowing where her former boyfriend lived but later admitted buying tampons, coloring them with red dye, and dumping them on the property “for the sole purpose to harass,” according to investigators.
The victim thanked deputies for their quick action, calling the episode “disgusting and disturbing.”
Franze was released from the Volusia County Branch Jail on her own recognizance, court records show. She has been placed on paid administrative leave while Orange County Fire Rescue conducts an internal investigation. Franze has been with the department since 2019.
