A disturbing video has surfaced showing Milnerton High School students, Leo Weber and Briint Davids, allegedly beating a Grade 10 learner with a belt, while other students stood by laughing and cheering.
The footage, reportedly filmed on school grounds, shows the victim in visible pain and humiliation as he’s struck multiple times with what appears to be a belt and a pipe. The attack has sparked widespread outrage and renewed national conversations about bullying and violence in South African schools.
Cape Town-based socialite Siv Ngesi was among the first to share the video publicly, writing:
“Name and shame all these little bullies! I hate bullies! But I do love bullying bullies!”
Ngesi also stated that he and others were actively searching for the assaulted student to provide support and ensure justice.
The video’s circulation on social media has led to an outpouring of anger and heartbreak from parents, educators, and citizens across the country. Many expressed frustration that such violent behavior continues to occur within schools. One user on X wrote:
“The ripple effects: When the bruises fade, but the damage doesn’t.”
Another added:
“We keep saying ‘not again,’ but it keeps happening. Our schools are becoming trauma zones.”
A parent commented:
“It’s not just about discipline — where’s the empathy being taught at home?”
Authorities and education officials are now under pressure to investigate the incident and take decisive disciplinary action against the perpetrators. The viral video has reignited calls for anti-bullying programs and stronger accountability measures in schools nationwide.
