Oswego Police Officer Ryan Arrastia Arrested for Assaulting Girlfriend, Breaking Her Cellphone

Ryan S. Arrastia, a 27-year-old Oswego police officer from Minetto, New York, was arrested on November 14, 2025, following an alleged domestic incident in which he reportedly assaulted his girlfriend and destroyed her cellphone.

According to the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a domestic dispute on County Route 25 in Minetto at 3:22 p.m. on November 10. During the incident, Arrastia allegedly punched his girlfriend repeatedly in the head, causing multiple injuries. He also reportedly smashed her iPhone 16 Pro Max, valued at approximately $1,200, on the bathroom floor.

Arrastia was charged with third-degree assault, a misdemeanor; third-degree menacing, a misdemeanor; third-degree criminal mischief, a felony; and second-degree harassment. He was arraigned before the Oswego County Centralized Arraignment Part (CAP) Court and subsequently released.

The Oswego City Police Department confirmed that Arrastia graduated from the Central New York Regional Law Enforcement Academy in August 2024 and had been serving as a police officer since then.

Authorities continue to investigate the domestic incident, emphasizing the seriousness of the allegations against a law enforcement officer entrusted with public safety.
