Gabriel Moses Perez, a 50-year-old pediatrician in San Antonio, has been arrested on charges of aggravated sexual assault of a child after allegedly performing sexual acts on a 13-year-old patient during a routine annual exam, authorities confirmed.
According to an arrest affidavit obtained by KSAT, Perez reportedly asked the boy’s mother to leave the examination room before assaulting the child. The victim had been under Perez’s care since around the age of 5 or 6. Investigators say the boy first felt uncomfortable with Perez’s conduct when he was 12 years old, the year prior to the alleged assault.
San Antonio Police Department detectives interviewed Perez, whose statements reportedly corroborated some aspects of the victim’s account. Perez was taken into custody at his home without incident. Authorities have not publicly disclosed the specific medical practice where Perez worked, though he is listed as a physician at Sorrento Plaza on Centro Med’s website.
