Bryan Ceja, 13, tragically lost his life in a multi-vehicle collision on the Foothill (210) Freeway in the Shadow Hills area of Los Angeles late Sunday night, Dec. 14, 2025.
According to authorities, the crash occurred around 7:53 p.m. on the westbound lanes near Sunland Boulevard, involving at least four vehicles. The Los Angeles Fire Department and California Highway Patrol responded to the scene, where one person was pronounced dead and six others sustained injuries. Among the injured, a 61-year-old man, a 30-year-old woman, and a 40-year-old man were reported in serious condition and taken to local hospitals.
Witnesses reported seeing a black SUV or pickup truck moving erratically through lanes at high speeds before the crash. Two vehicles rolled over during the collision, which temporarily shut down all westbound lanes.
A GoFundMe campaign set up in Bryan’s memory confirmed that his mother, Aracely, and uncle, Erick, were critically injured in the crash and are receiving hospital care. “They are expected to make a full recovery; however, they now face overwhelming medical, non-medical, and funeral expenses,” organizer Katherine Siordia wrote. As of Wednesday, the fundraiser had raised over $35,000 toward its $45,000 goal.The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office officially identified Bryan Ceja as the young victim. The tragedy has sparked an outpouring of grief from the local community, friends, and family members mourning the loss of the boy.
