Ja’Vonte L. Cooper has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of Biggs Williams on Christmas morning, according to Memphis police.
Authorities responded to a report of gunfire at the Exxon gas station located at Kirby Parkway and East Raines Road at approximately 11:06 a.m. Thursday. When officers arrived, they found Williams deceased at the scene.
Police reported that the two individuals had been involved in an argument prior to the shooting. Cooper was taken into custody shortly after the incident.
He has been charged with second-degree murder and employing a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony. Investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Officials urge anyone with information about the incident to contact the Memphis Police Department.
