A woman has been charged in connection with a deadly shooting in Walnut Hills, Cincinnati, that left one woman dead late Sunday night, according to court records.
Jasmine Blake has been identified as the suspect in the killing of Diamond “RedNose” Rice, 33. A homicide investigator stated in Blake’s criminal complaint that the charge stems from an investigation that included evidence recovered at the crime scene, statements Blake allegedly made during 911 calls, and accounts from witnesses.
According to the complaint, investigators allege that Blake used a handgun to shoot Rice during an argument, resulting in her death.
Cincinnati police said officers responded to a report of a shooting shortly after 10 p.m. in the 2300 block of May Street. When officers arrived, they found Rice suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite attempts to provide life-saving aid, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Court documents indicate Blake was charged based on the totality of evidence gathered during the investigation. Officials have not released additional details regarding the nature of the argument or the relationship between the two women.
The case remains under investigation, and authorities emphasized that the allegations outlined in the complaint are subject to the judicial process.
