A dispute between two women over a mistaken $4,000 money transfer has gained attention online, with social media users divided over how the situation should be handled.
Khadijah Singleton says she accidentally sent $4,000 to the wrong person via Apple Pay after entering an incorrect number. According to her account, the money was intended to be transferred between her own accounts but was instead sent to a stranger—identified as Titianna Jackson.
Singleton said she does not know Jackson personally and immediately attempted to recover the funds after realizing the mistake.
In a series of social media posts, Singleton claimed that Jackson initially did not return the money. However, after the situation gained traction online and drew public attention, Jackson allegedly sent back $2,000.
Singleton says the remaining $2,000 has not been returned.
“I made a huge mistake and I take full responsibility,” Singleton wrote. “I accidentally sent this girl 4K… I was one number off and it went to a stranger.”
She added that public pressure may have influenced the partial repayment, stating that the $2,000 was returned only after others encouraged Jackson to do so.Singleton also expressed frustration that the rest of the funds have not been sent back, claiming that Jackson refused to return the remaining balance after the situation was discussed publicly.
At one point, Singleton said she had considered allowing Jackson to keep a portion of the money but has since changed her position.
“I was trying to be generous and tell her to keep $1,000, but at this point… I just want my $2,000 back,” she wrote.
The situation has sparked widespread debate online, with some users arguing that the full amount should be returned, while others point out that mistaken transfers can become complicated depending on platform policies and personal decisions.
As of now, there has been no indication of legal action, and the matter appears to remain a private dispute between the two parties.
