A Memphis mother, Tonii Tonii, has launched a GoFundMe campaign to support her 7-year-old son, Ka’Mari Hardin, after he was allegedly robbed at gunpoint in his neighborhood—an incident that has left the young boy shaken and afraid to go outside.
Robbery in South Memphis Neighborhood
The incident reportedly occurred Wednesday night around 9 p.m. near the Riverview Community Center in South Memphis. According to Ka’Mari, he was walking home along Vaal Avenue when he was approached by a teenager.
The child recounted that the suspect pinned him to the ground, held him in place, and used a weapon to intimidate him while stealing money from his pocket.
“I was holding my pocket because I was trying to protect myself,” Ka’Mari said. “He pulled my hand off and took my money.”
The boy said the suspect stole two $5 bills, but the emotional impact has been far greater than the amount taken.
Child Left Traumatized
Following the incident, Ka’Mari is now reportedly afraid to go outside or play with friends, highlighting the psychological toll of the encounter.
His mother shared that her children had never experienced anything like this before, expressing anger and concern over the trauma her son endured.
GoFundMe Created for Support
In response, Tonii Tonii has created a GoFundMe campaign to help support her son as he copes with the aftermath of the incident. The fundraiser aims to provide both emotional and practical support as the family navigates the situation.
Community Concerns Grow
The incident has raised concerns about safety in the neighborhood, particularly involving children. Residents are being urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to local authorities.
As the story continues to gain attention, many are rallying around Ka’Mari and his family, hoping to restore a sense of safety and normalcy for the young boy.
