A Jamaica Defence Force soldier is in police custody following the killing of his girlfriend in Three Chains, Manchester, after an alleged domestic dispute.
The deceased has been identified as Tania Dunkley, who was found dead at her home along Three Chain Road earlier in the day. Authorities say the suspect, 27-year-old Damanice Williamson, later turned himself in to investigators.
Initial reports indicate that the couple had been in a common-law relationship and were living together at the time of the incident.
According to information emerging from the investigation, an argument reportedly developed between the two after Dunkley expressed her intention to end the relationship. During the dispute, Williamson allegedly became enraged and used a knife to inflict multiple injuries.
Dunkley later succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
Following the incident, Williamson reportedly surrendered to police and is now in custody as detectives continue their investigation.
The Jamaica Constabulary Force has not yet released full details surrounding the circumstances of the killing, and inquiries remain ongoing.
