Maleigha Loale Allen, 20, Charged With ‘Premeditated’ Murder of Father Michael Steven Allen in Davidson County; Past Allegations Surface as Investigation Continues

A 20-year-old woman in North Carolina has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of her father, in a case authorities describe as an isolated domestic incident.

Maleigha Loale Allen is accused of killing her father, Michael Steven Allen, 44, inside their home in Lexington, according to the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded on April 17 to a residence on Bryant Road after receiving reports of a woman with multiple injuries in the nearby Whispering Oaks Drive area. When authorities arrived, they found Michael Allen dead inside the home.

An autopsy determined he died from sharp force trauma.

Maleigha Allen, who was also injured, was transported to a hospital for treatment before being taken into custody. She has since been charged with first-degree murder and is being held without bond.

Investigators allege the killing was premeditated, though officials have not publicly detailed a motive. The circumstances leading up to the incident remain under active investigation.

According to Sheriff Richie Simmons, the father and daughter were the only two people living in the home. Authorities emphasized there is no ongoing threat to the public.

“This was an isolated incident, so there’s no other threat to our community,” Simmons said.

Records show that Michael Allen had previously been charged in 2019 with multiple sex-related offenses involving a minor, according to the sheriff’s office. However, court records indicate those charges were later dismissed and not continued in court. Officials have not confirmed any connection between those past allegations and the current case.

The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to determine what led to the fatal incident.
